I've been searching a long time

Ok, ok, calm yourselves. I come prepared with some pictures (not previously seen on Facebook).

These are not recent, and I apologize for the delay, but they're new to you!

A couple of weeks ago, a couple of British girls I met and I went to the Eureka Tower, which offers the highest public vantage point in the Southern hemisphere.

It was intense! I haven't been up in a tall building since... well, ok, I did do "Top of the Rock" my senior year at NYU, but let me tell you, that pales in comparison. The Eureka SkyDeck is on the 88th floor! And the view:
this is the view to the south

I know it's a small, unclear picture through thick glass, but being there, you can see all the way to the other side of the bay, to the end of the peninsula - to the ocean! Outrageous. Some more views:

the view to the east - that's the MCG just to the left of the river and the tennis complex where the Australian Open is played on the far left of the photo

view of Flinders Station, the CBD and the Yarra River

It's a long way down:

So, we thought that was pretty cool. Really a great way to get a perspective of Melbourne.

Today I went to the Jewish Museum, which is like 5 minutes away from my house. Apparently I live in a hotbed for the Jewish community! The museum was interesting, and even better, had an exhibit on Women in the Bible, which was very cool! I also got to tour the sponsoring synagogue (my first), which was beautiful. Built in the 1920s, it is the 3rd synagogue on the site. Besides the temporary exhibit, the museum also featured a beautiful and intricate timeline of Jewish history, which featured the key events in plaques on the floor, so you are literally walking through the events.

So, that's my tourism update for today. The job situation is in flux at the moment, but hoping to have it firmed up soon - details on that when I have them!
